Medium carbon quenched steel, cold heading die steel. The steel is affordable and easy to process. After proper heat treatment, certain toughness, plasticity and wear resistance can be obtained. Normalizing can improve the microstructure refinement and close to equilibrium state, which can improve the cutting performance of blank. The steel has the best comprehensive mechanical properties when tempered at 550~570℃. The hardenability of the steel is higher than 45 steel, suitable for high frequency quenching, flame quenching and other surface hardening treatment.
This kind of steel is used to manufacture mechanical parts that bear medium load and medium speed after tempering, such as automobile steering knuckle, rear half shaft and gear, shaft, worm, spline shaft, top sleeve, etc.
