M35 High speed tool steel round bar
The main use of M35 High speed tool steel round bar continues to be in the manufacture of various cutting tools: drills, taps, milling cutters, tool bits, gear cutters, saw blades, planer and jointer blades, router bits, etc., although usage for punches and dies is increasing. High speed steels also found a market in fine hand tools where their relatively good toughness at high hardness, coupled with high abrasion resistance, made them suitable for low speed applications requiring a durable keen (sharp) edge, such as files, chisels, hand plane blades, and damascus kitchen knives and pocket knives.High speed steel tools are the most popular for use in woodturning, as the speed of movement of the work past the edge is relatively high for handheld tools, and HSS holds its edge far longer than high carbon steel tools can.

3. M35 High Speed Tool Steel Material Mechanical Properties
Hardness, Rockwell C (oil quenched on 1204°C, 5 minutes): 64.8 HRC.
Hardness, Rockwell C (oil quenched on 1177°C, 5 minutes): 65.2 HRC
Hardness, Rockwell C(oil quenched on 1163°C), 5 minutes: 65.2 HRC
Grinding
4. Forged of M35 Steel metal material
At first, Pre-Heating to 650-750℃,Then heat to forged temperature. Next, Soak at 1050-1100 °C , ensure heat thorough. Then start forged, the forged temperature no low than 950℃. After forging, cool slowly.
5. M35 HSS Steel Annealing
At first, slowly heat to 871℃,then slowly Cool to 538℃(1000℉) in heat treatment furnace. Then cool in air. After annealing, the hardness HBS: 269 Max.
6. M35 tool Steel Hardening
M35 steel having very high hardenability and should be hardened by cooling in still air. The use of a salt bath or controlled atmosphere furnace is desirable to minimize decarburization, and if not available, pack hardening in spent pitch coke is suggested.
7. Quenching of HSS M35 Steel material
Quenching temperature / ℃ | salt bath furnace: 1190-1210
Quenching temperature / ℃ | controlled atmosphere furnace: 1200-1220
The heat preservation time/min: 5 ~ 15
Quenching medium: Oil cooling
Hardness: 64 HRC Min
8. Tempering Of HSS M35 Tool Steel
Tempering temperature / ℃ : 540-564
After tempering hardness HRC or higher: 64
Packing & Delivery
Standard seaworthy package:
1)Paint oil on the surface to protect the steel flat bars from rusting
2)Bundle packing by iron strips.
3)Bundle weight is from 2Mt to 3Mt
4)Two or three tags will be attached on each bundle.In general,at one end of each other.
5)According to the customer's demand.
