Tensile Strength
Annealed Condition: The nominal room-temperature tensile strength is 520 - 1170 MPa (75 - 170 ksi). In the annealed state, it can be 552 MPa minimum according to some data.
Cold Worked Condition: For cold worked wire with a diameter of 1.6 - 6.4 mm, it can reach 1170 - 1520 MPa (170 - 220 ksi).
Yield Strength1
Annealed Condition: In the annealed state, it is 172 - 345 MPa (25 - 50 ksi). Some sources give a minimum of 241 MPa (35 ksi) with a 0.2% offset.
Cold Worked Condition: For cold-drawn wire that has undergone spring tempering, it can reach 1035 - 1450 MPa (150 - 210 ksi).
Elongation
Annealed Condition: In the annealed state, it is 35% - 55%. Some data shows 30% minimum for gauges > 0.010 inches13.
At Elevated Temperature: For example, at 550°C, the elongation of the annealed material is 42%.
Impact Strength: Inconel 600 has good impact strength at room temperature and remains almost unchanged at lower temperatures with no tough-to-brittle transition. It offers a strength of 160 - 180 ft-lb per 13 mm of plate thickness2.
Fatigue Strength: Grain size and mechanical properties impact high-speed rotating beam fatigue strength but have little effect on low-cycle fatigue strength1.
Creep Resistance: The alloy has good resistance to slow and gradual deformation over time, showing good creep resistance, especially at high temperatures2.
Hardness: In the tempered hard state, the hardness is at least RE303.
Modulus of Elasticity: It is 207 x 10³ MPa (30 x 10³ ksi) in tension
