H21 is perhaps the most widely used of the Tungsten hot work steels. The 9.5% tungsten content imparts good resistance to softening at service temperatures while still maintaining adequate toughness. Unlike the higher tungsten grades, H-21 may be cooled by continuous flow of water if the design of the die will permit.We can supply the round bar, steel flat bar, plate, steel sheet, hexagonal steel bar and steel square block. 2.Application of H21 steel H21 hot work tool steel is particularly useful for hot forging and blanking dies and punches for making nuts, bolts and other similar small components. Dies, cores, inserts, pins, etc for the die casting of copper base alloys are also prime applications for this steel.

5.Heat Treatment

The H21 tool steel will get MAX 235 HB (Brinell hardness). Hardening of H21 tool steel H21 steels should be heated uniformly to 1050-1100°C (1922-2012°F) until completely heated through. If needed, the steels can be preheated at 300-500°C (572-932°F).
About 30 min/per 25 mm of ruling section is to be provided and then the steels should be immediately quenched in air. Tempering of H21 tool steel Tempering of H21 steels is performed at 600-650°C (212-662°F), Soak well at the selected temperature and soak for at least one hour per 25mm of total thickness. Get Rockwell C hardness of 50 MAX.
